Campbell Valley Regional Park is located in South Langley and its forests, marshland, rolling hills and open meadows are home to an abundance of plants and wildlife. Boasting in beautiful scenery and 29 kilometers of walking trails and boardwalks, it’s the perfect location for a scavenger hunt!

Whether your child is a toddler or school-aged, you can easily tailor a hunt that’s both fun and educational at any age. We packed up our one and two year old for an afternoon of foraging in the park and here are a few supplies we suggest bringing:

a small clipboard,

scavenger hunt list,

magnifying glass,

small basket,

and a snack

Entering the park from the 16th Avenue entrance will bring you to a free parking lot, washroom facilities, and interpretive map. Follow the Little River Loop Trail to traverse over the creek on one of the many wooden boardwalks. Keep a lookout, as there are dozens of beautiful bird species sailing through the small trees and bushes.

This tranquil park is the perfect escape from the daily grind and has a way of allowing you to completely relax and enjoy a serene backdrop of nature surrounding you.  Preserved trails allow little ones to experience freedom and truly adventure, and parents to be a little more carefree. Everyone is able to enjoy some adventuring of their own.

As we watched our children discover new and different pieces of nature, we were reminded why we love to immerse our family into the beautiful pockets of nature that the Fraser Valley has to offer.

We arrived home with our foraged goodies that our littles were so proud to find, and wanted to be able to display and enjoy them for just a bit longer. Turn the page for a beautiful and creative way to get the most out of your nature scavenger hunt finds!
